New Physicians
University Medical Center is pleased to announce the ddition of Nancy Reuter Barrett, MD, General Surgeon. Dr. Barrett specializes in general and laparoscopic surgery. She also specializes in surgery of the breast.
A distinguished graduate of Emory University, Atlanta, Georgia, Nancy Reuter Barrett earned her medical degree from Duke University School of Medicine, Durham, North Carolina. Following medical school she completed a residency in general surgery at the University of Massachusetts – Memorial Health Care, Worcester, Massachusetts, and Vanderbilt University Medical Center where she served as chief resident.
Dr. Barrett has enjoyed a successful private practice in Vero Beach, Florida, for the last four years. She returns to Lebanon, where she previously practiced with Dr. Robert Carver Bone, to open her own private practice.
Dr. Barrett is a diplomat of the American Board of Surgery, the American Society of Breast Surgeons and an Associate Member of the American College of Surgeons.
Her commitment to community service is admirable having volunteered for such highly esteemed organizations as Habitat for Humanity and St. Anne’s Free Clinic during medical school and residency. Dr. Barrett is a member of the Tennessee Medical Association.
Dr. Barrett and her husband Shane Barrett, are excited about their return to Lebanon where they, along with their two young sons, have enjoyed becoming part of the community.
