New Physicians
University Medical Center is pleased to announce the addition of Jonathan Philip Cornelius, MD, Orthopedic Surgeon. Dr. Cornelius is fellowship trained in sports medicine surgery, including arthroscopic reconstruction of knee, shoulder, and ankle disorders. He also specializes in minimally invasive total knee, unicompartmental knee, total hip and total shoulder replacement, as well as alternate bearing total joint replacement.
Dr. Cornelius is board eligible in orthopedic surgery and fellowship trained in sports medicine. He attended medical school at Indiana University School of Medicine, Indiana, where he graduated Phi Beta Kappa and received many honors including Beechwood Education Foundation Scholar and Dr. Halsted Murat Memorial Scholar and Indiana Honors Division Scholar. He completed his residency in Orthopaedic Surgery at Grand Rapids Medical Education and Research Center, Michigan State University and in 2009, completed a sports medicine fellowship at The San Antonio Orthopaedic Group, San Antonio, Texas.
Dr. Cornelius is a diplomat of the American Medical Association, Mid-America Orthopaedic Association, American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, Arthroscopy Association of North America, Health Volunteers Overseas and Orthopaedics Overseas.
Dr. Cornelius and his wife Kate recently moved to Mt. Juliet and are looking forward to becoming involved in the community.
