Inpatient Hospitalization Behavioral HealthServices

Inpatient Hospitalization

Inpatient Hospitalization is offered to clients 18 years of age and older when 24 hour a day treatment is needed.

During hospitalization comprehensive care is offered from a multi-disciplinary team including medical doctors, psychiatrists, nurses, social workers, occupational, recreational and music therapists.

Length of stay is usually seven to ten days depending on the needs of the individual. There are three separate units.

The Mood and Anxiety Disorders Unit

The Mood and Anxiety Disorders Unit offers care to adults experiencing symptoms of depression, anxiety and stress.

General Psychiatry

The General Psychiatry Unit’s main focus is for patients diagnosed with thought disorders or with psychotic symptoms such as hallucinations.

Senior Transitions

The Senior Transitions Unit offers care to adults 65 and over.  It offers comprehensive assessment and treatment to senior adults.

Depression, anxiety, confusion and agitation are not usual components of the aging process. Their appearance may signify the presence of treatable physical and/or emotional disorders.

Length of stay is typically ten to fourteen days, but is adjusted to the treatment needs of the individual.
