The UMC Rehab Center at McFarland
About us
The UMC Rehab Center at McFarland is an Acute Inpatient Rehab, located on the hospital's second floor. The center has 26 patient rooms, three therapy treatment rooms, a patient dining area, and an "activities of daily living" area which includes a kitchen/laundry area and a patient apartment, for those individuals who will be returning home alone. All patient rooms are private and include bathroom facilities. McFarland Rehab offers an intense/coordinated rehab approach with great physician involvement and access to radiology, dialysis, laboratory, psychology, respiratory, and pharmacy services.
McFarland Rehab is under the leadership of Dr. Scott Baker; Dr. Baker is a board-certified physiatrist, specializing in the field of rehabilitation medicine. Dr. Baker leads a multidisciplinary team of rehabilitation experts including rehabilitation nurses, physical therapists, occupational therapists, speech therapists, social worker/case manager, and dietician.
The interdisciplinary treatment team will develop an individualized treatment plan to help the patient become as independent as possible in their activities of daily living, including mobility and homemaking skills, and facilitate re-entry into the home and community. The patient will receive a minimum of 3 hours of therapy per day / 5-6 days per week.
